Liver/Gallstone Cleanse

Some health advisors say that everyone has gallstones (and I tend to agree), it is just a matter of how many and if they are causing health issues. You may ask, “Shouldn’t I have pain or something if I have gallstones?” If it gets to the point of pain, nausea or vomiting, you are in serious trouble. It would be much less pain and aggravation if you simply do a periodic flush and get the stones out before they build to the point of illness.

NOTE: If you have an x-ray that does not show gallstones, you can still be fairly certain that you have some stones to pass. They will often line up in the ducts of the liver and x-rays will not show that.  OH! And if you don’t have a gallbladder, you still need to flush the liver, sorry. But more stones and junk store in the liver than the gallbladder. This cleanse is suggested at least twice each year for prevention. After intestinal regulation and cleansing (Bowel Stimulant, IC-1, IC-2), this is the next option if you still have health challenges. You can repeat it every night for three nights in a row and you may repeat the following three day cleanse every other week if necessary.

This cleanse is useful for liver congestion, gallstones, lactic acid build-up (anxiety), eliminates shoulder, upper arm, and upper back pain or use for general health improvement.

 

Ingredients you will need:
o 1/2 Cup Olive Oil Extra Virgin
o 1 Big grapefruit (2 small) (Or 3 lemons)
o 4 tablespoon EPSOM salts
o 3 cups water (=750 dl)

  • Choose a day like Saturday for the cleanse, since you will be able to rest the next day.
  • Take no medicines, vitamins or pills that you can do without; they could prevent success.
  • Eat a no-fat breakfast and lunch such as cooked cereal with fruit, fruit juice (no butter or milk or dairy), baked potato or other vegetables with salt only. This allows the bile to build up and develop pressure in the liver. Higher pressure pushes out more stones.

2:00 PM.

  • Do not eat or drink after 2 o’clock. If you break this rule you could feel quite ill later.
  • Get your Epsom salts ready. Mix 4 tbs. in 3 cups water and pour this into a jar. This makes four servings, 3/4 cup each. Set the jar in the refrigerator to get cold (for convenience and taste only).
    You can substitute the 3 cups of water with 3 cups freshly pressed grapefruit juice, or freshly pressed apple juice, it makes the salty taste more palatable.

6:00 PM.

  • Drink one serving (3/4 cup) of the ice cold Epsom salts. If you did not prepare this ahead of time, do it right now. You may also add 1/8 tsp. vitamin C powdered to improve the taste. You may also drink a few mouthfuls of water afterwards or rinse your mouth.
  • Get the olive oil and grapefruit out to warm up.

8:00 PM.

  • Repeat by drinking another 3/4 cup of Epsom salts. You haven’t eaten since two o’clock, but you won’t feel hungry. Get your bedtime chores done. The timing is critical for success; don’t be more than 10 minutes early or late.

9:45 PM.

  • Pour 1/2 cup (measured) olive oil into the pint jar. Squeeze the grapefruit by hand into the measuring cup. You can skip this if you make your EPSOM salt in grapefruit juice. If you used water, proceed with fresh grapefruit. Remove pulp with fork. You should have at least 1/2 cup, more (up to 3/4 cup) is best. You may top it up with lemonade. Add this to the olive oil. Close the jar tightly with the lid and shake hard until watery (only fresh grapefruit does this).
  • Now visit the bathroom one or more times, but don’t be more than 15 minutes late for your ten o’clock drink. You will drink your concoction at 10:00 pm.

10:00 PM.

  • Drink the potion you have mixed. You can take 4 Ornithine capsules (an amino acid supplement) with the first sips to make sure you will sleep through the night. Take 8 if you already suffer from insomnia. Take it to your bedside if you want, but drink it standing up. Get it down within 5 minutes (fifteen minutes for very elderly or weak persons).
  • Lie down immediately. You might fail to get stones out if you don’t. The sooner you lie down the more stones you will get out. Be ready for bed ahead of time. Don’t clean up the kitchen. As soon as the drink is down walk to your bed and lie down flat on your back with your head up high on the pillow. Try to think about what is happening in the liver. Try to keep perfectly still for at least 20 minutes. You may feel a train of stones traveling along the bile ducts like marbles. There is no pain because the bile duct valves are open (thank you Epsom salts!). Go to sleep.

Next morning. If you wake up and pass stones in your bowel movement, you can call it successful. Eat no fat for several hours, try to eat healthy that day to help the body continue any cleansing. If you do not pass stones, or if you do and want to take the liver flush to the next level, continue as follows.

Upon awakening (after bathroom trip) take your third dose of Epsom salts. If you have indigestion or nausea wait until it is gone before drinking the Epsom salts. You may go back to bed. Don’t take this potion before 6:00 AM.

2 hours later.

  • Take your fourth (and last) dose of Epsom salts. Drink 3/4 cups of the mixture. You may go back to bed. NOTE: If you have diarrhea at this point, you do not need to take this last drink.
  • After 2 more hours you may eat. Start with fresh fruit juice. Half an hour later eat fruit. One hour later you may eat regular food but keep it light. By supper you should feel recovered.

Expect diarrhea in the morning. Use a flashlight to look for gallstones in the toilet with the bowel movement. Look for the green kind since this is proof that they are genuine gallstones, not food residue. Only bile from the liver is pea green. The bowel movement sinks but gallstones float because of the cholesterol inside. Count them all roughly, whether tan or green. You will need to pass about 2,000 stones before the liver is clean enough to rid you of allergies or bursitis or upper back pains permanently. The first cleanse may rid you of them for a few days, but as the stones from the rear travel forward, they give you the same symptoms again. You may repeat cleanses at two week intervals. As a matter of fact, if you pass any stones or sludge, it is recommended that you repeat the flush every two weeks until you no longer pass any stones or slush. This means the liver is cleansed enough to begin rebuilding. Never cleanse when you are ill.

Sometimes, the bile ducts are full of cholesterol crystals that did not form into round stones. They appear as a “chaff” floating on top of the toilet bowl water. It may be tan colored, harboring millions of tiny white crystals. Cleansing this chaff is just as important as purging the stones.

How safe is the liver cleanse? It is very safe. Dr Hulda Clark says, “My opinion is based on over 500 cases, including many persons in their seventies and eighties. None went to the hospital; none even reported pain. However it can make you feel quite ill for one or two days afterwards.”

This procedure contradicts many modern medical viewpoints. Gallstones are thought to be formed in the gallbladder, not the liver. They are thought to be few, not thousands. They are not linked to pains other than gallbladder attacks. It is easy to understand why this thought: by the time you have acute pain attacks, some stones are in the gallbladder, are big enough and sufficiently calcified to see on X-ray, and have caused inflammation there. When the gallbladder is removed the acute attacks are gone, but the bursitis and other pains and digestive problems remain.

The truth is self-evident. People who have had their gallbladder removed surgically still get plenty of green, bile coated stones, and anyone who cares to dissect their stones can see that the concentric circles and crystals of cholesterol match textbook pictures of “gallstones” exactly.

Gallstones consist of cholesterol and bile pigments in different concentration depending on the conditions under which they were formed.

Baking Soda Cures

  1. During the first day take six doses of half teaspoonful of Arm & Hammer Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water, at about two hour intervals. Make sure it is aluminum free soda.
  2. During the second day take four doses of half teaspoonful of Arm and Hammer Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water, at the same intervals.
  3. During the third day take two doses of half teaspoonful of Arm and Hammer Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water morning and evening, and thereafter half teaspoonful in glass of cool water each morning until cold is cured.

In order to secure the best results with Arm & Hammer Pure Bicarbonate of Soda (Baking Soda) when taken internally, certain simple rules must be observed. Materia Medica, pharmacology and Therapeutics (Bastedo, Page 88) clearly outlines these rules to follows:

  • “The effect of an alkali in the stomach will vary according to the nature of the stomach contents at the time of administration. In the resting period (after food is digested) sodium bicarbonate merely dissolves mucus and is absorbed as bicarbonate into the blood, to increase its alkalinity directly.
  • “In the digestive period it reduces the secretion of gastric juice, neutralizes a portion of the hydrochloric acid, liberates the carminative carbon dioxide gas, and is absorbed as sodium chloride.
  • “In cases of fermentation or ‘sour stomach’ it may neutralize the organic acids and so result in the opening of a spasmodically closed pylorus (the opening between the stomach and the small intestine); while at the same time it acts to overcome flatulency (accumulation of gas in the stomach and bowels).
  • “The time of administration must, therefore, be chosen with a definite purpose. Usually for hyperchlohydria (excess of acid) one hour or two hours after meals will be the period of harmful excess of acid.
  • “In continuous hyperacidity and in fermentative conditions a dose an hour before meals will tend to prepare the stomach for the next meal; or sometimes a dose will be necessary immediately after eating, because of abnormal acid or base having been present at the commencement of the meal. (For the average person one-half hour after meals is recommended).
  • “A dose at bedtime tends to check the early morning acidity, or a dose on arising cleans the stomach of acid and mucus before breakfast.”
  • Whenever taking a bicarbonate solution internally the soda should be dissolved on cold water.
  • This is all very valuable information coming from the horses own mouth, the Arm and Hammer Baking Soda Company, which sells aluminum free baking soda. Clearly they knew what they had in their hands one hundred years ago; and its long use in medicine sustains the companies published medical views:
  • “Besides doing good in respiratory affections, bicarbonate of soda is of inestimable value in the treatment of Alimentary Intoxication, Pyelitis (inflammation of the pelvis of the kidney), Hyper-Acidity of Urine, Uric Acid disturbances, Rheumatism and Burns. An occasional three-day course of Bicarbonate of Soda increases the alkalinity of the blood, assists elimination and increases the resisting power of the body to all Infectious Diseases.”

Colon Flushing w/ Water

My motto for discovering the secrets to health and wellness always begin with, “How was it intended to be?” As in, “How did nature create it to be?” With this concept driving my search for a solution, I used to say that if we were intended to have a colonic, we would have been designed with a spicket on our hind end. But then, I also believe one can learn from nature and from time to time, a heron will suck up a beak full of water, twist its neck around and insert the beak into its own anus, squirting the water deep into its bowels to flush out the putrid debris and other residue from its fish-based diet. So perhaps we should consider the benefits of flushing the colon with water. Add the fact that just about every disease you can think of has been either reversed, halted or greatly decreased by doing colon flushes, and it seems we have all the proof we need.

There are many supplement products on the market promoting to help the body flush waste material from the colon, gallbladder and various tissues. Some products promote the elimination of parasites, candida or other “bad guys”. But all of these parasites, candidas and other toxins are only in your body, only an issue, because you have accumulated waste that serves to host them. Imagine finding mold under your kitchen sink. There is no mystery how it got there, it is well evident that there is a leak somewhere. Just as mold needs a water source to grow and thrive, so does every harmful germ and pathogen. So is it more effective to always chase the germs or better to change the environment so they don’t have such a great place to thrive?

Do you have to do water flushing to be healthy? Nope. Many people have lived long lives without them. But in a world where real food is practically extinct, the body just isn’t getting the kinds of things that the old generations ate. It is difficult to find a food that has not been sprayed with some chemical or pesticide, or has not been processed, genetically altered or had something added to it. Here are some reasons you might consider the colon flush with water:

  • If your diet contains meat, dairy or cheese.
  • If your diet contains any kind of refined carbohydrates or bread.
  • If you are on a health program that just doesn’t seem to be getting you well.
  • If you require lots of supplements to get you by.
  • You have a very serious health condition.
  • If you like to do everything in your power to retain health and longevity.

Dr. Bernard Jensen was one of the first people to document the toxic waste that builds up in the colon in his book, Tissue Cleansing Through Bowel Management. “I coined the term mucoid plaque, meaning a film of mucus, to describe the unhealthy accumulation of abnormal mucous matter on the walls of the intestines. Conventional medicine knows this as a layering of mucin or glycoproteins (made up of 20 amino acids and 50% carbohydrates) which are naturally and appropriately secreted by intestines as protection from acids and toxins.” The body forms this mucus as a protection mechanism to trap all the toxins and poisons that would otherwise circulate back into the body. But left in the body long enough, they become overly toxic and cause disease.

What you see in the photo below is not a normal stool sample but chunks of the mucoid passed from clients. Can you imagine how toxic that would be left inside your intestine?

If you are ready to eliminate the mucoid plaque, remember that the following instructions on flushing the colon with water are IN ADDITION to the products mentioned in the Colon Cleansing Blog (show below):

  1. Intestinal Cleanser 1 (one scoop in apple juice 1-3 times a day)
  2. Intestinal Cleanser 2 (eight capsules each day for 8 days)
  3. Bowel Stimulant (start with 1 each night, increase one capsule daily to bowel tolerance -meaning if you get diarrhea, back down one pill. Take as many as you can each evening without getting diarrhea).
  4. Lemonade-Master Cleanse (the body rarely releases mucoids unless you are fasting)

Colon flushing with water means water needs to be flushed into the colon. This is known as a high enema or a colema, the personal version of a colonic. While an enema delivers a small amount of solution that is retained and released, a colema delivers a continuous flow of water. As the water slowly runs into the colon, you hold it in the colon as long as possible. When no longer able to hold it, you release it into the toilet. The water does not stop running during this part, so after the release you slowly begin to accumulate water again and hold it as long as you can. This continues until 3-5 gallons have been flushed in and out of the colon. Each time you release the water and begin to retain it again, the water goes a little further up into the colon with hopes of getting as much of a complete flush as possible.

As you can see in the photos below, a special colema board is used to do the colon flush. The primary reason for the board is because the water must flow continuously into the colon, so you remain in a relaxed, slightly inclined postion with your bottom held against the part of the board over the toilet. The tip inserted into the rectum in a colema is actually smaller in diameter than a pencil and only inserts a couple of inches. Because of the amount of solution, the process can take up to 45 minutes depending on how fast you have the water flowing. A colema is much more thorough than an enema. Some say it takes seven enemas to get the results of one colema.

“It’s like changing the oil in your car,” says Guy Hopkins, the 60-year-old owner of The Spa Resort on the Thai island of Koh Samui, whose eyes glint with evangelical zeal when he talks about colonic irrigation. “If you don’t do it every so often, your body isn’t going to run that well. We constantly put the wrong fuel in our bodies and, sure, they keep on going, but cleanse yourself and you’ll be amazed how much better you’ll feel.”

REVIEW OF COLEMA SETUP FOR PRIVATE USE

  1. You will need a colema cleansing kit, which includes the board, bucket, hose and colema tip. You can investigate your own sources, but at the time this was written, the following website had the best deal and board – homecolonic.com. You can use it over and over, simply purchase extra tips for other people that might use the board. I DO NOT endorse the supplements, but the board and kit are a great deal.
  2. Water is the basic solution for flushing and you should start with clean well water or distilled water, never tap water with chlorine in it.
  3. You will desire a bit of lubricant, such as olive oil or KY jelly to put on the tip.
  4. A pillow and soft pad or old blanket to place on the board for added comfort is recommended…perhaps one you can dedicate to this project only.
  5. Perhaps a book or soft music as the process will take you 45-60 minutes to complete your flush.

REVIEW OF PROCEDURE

  1. Situating the colema board. The colema board should have a hole in one end of it. This end will rest in a centered position over the toilet bowl. It is best to have the toilet seat raised. The other end of the board will rest on a solid chair. It is best to have a slight elevation on the end of the board that sits on the chair (perhaps an inch or two.) You will be lying on this board, so try to make a stable condition with your board and your chair. If your bathroom is too small to accommodate the colema setup as mentioned, you can use a 5 gallon bucket in the place of a toilet and simply empty the bucket when you are finished.
  2. Placing the water bucket. The water, which we will now refer to as solution should be situated so that the bottom of the bucket is anywhere from 20-40+ inches above the colema board. You will need a 3-5 gallon bucket. You may want to place your bucket in its position and then fill it with your solution rather than filling it first and having to lift the filled bucket to your desired position.
  3. Making your solution. You can do some research and use any solution you want. You will need to prepare at least three gallons total, but as many as five gallons are recommended if you have a bucket that will hold that amount. Most water temperatures for giving Colonics range from cool to very warm, but should be a comfortable temperature for the individual user. Warmer temperatures are generally best so they relax the intestinal muscle. You can test the solution temperature by putting some on your wrist, the way you might test a baby bottle, or stick your elbow in the water and see how it feels. You may use plain, pure water, one of the solutions I list below, or some other option you desire.
  4. Outfitting the board. You will be lying on the board for 45 minutes, maybe more, so you will want to create a comfortable position. Consider placing an old towel or blanket or pad on the board, but keep it 8-12 inches from the hole that is over the toilet. Place a pillow or two at the end of the board farthest from the toilet for your head.
  5. Final steps. When everything seems to be in position, put your lubricant (olive oil or KY jelly) in reaching distance from the board. Put the tip of the hose over the hole in the colema board and slowly open the bull clip allowing all the air to run out of the hose. When you see the solution emerging, shut the bull clip. Turn on your music or put your book on the pillow. You are now ready to lay on the board. The most important part is that you have your feet on the board on either side of the board (as seen in the photo) with your buttocks tightly sealed against the buttock support of the board over the toilet bowl. Before you get your final position, you will need to insert the tip into the rectum, but you should make sure you know just where your final position will be first. The water will be flowing into the rectum and colon and then eliminated into the toilet. When elimination occurs, you want the waste to flow down the opening into the toilet, not all over the board or on the floor. Get a tight fitting position and get comfortable, you are now ready to begin.
  6. Beginning the colema. The end of the hose should have a tip that is about 6 inches long. This is only inserted about 3 inches into the rectum. It may be wisest to place your fingers about three inches from the end of the tip, lubricate the tip a little bit and insert until your fingers meet your hind end. This way you assure you have not pushed the tip too far. To insert the entire tip may be fine for some, but for others it may push against the delicate intestinal lining causing irritation or even harm. You cannot insert the tip while your buttock is tight against the buttock support, so once the tip is inserted, position the hose between your legs. When ready, open the clamp to allow the solution to flow freely into the colon. Open it ever so slightly at first so you can acclimate to the experience without feeling too much stress.
  7. Relax, hold and eliminate. It does not work well if you do not relax. The goal is to hold the solution in the colon. You will slowly begin to feel the water accumulate. You will then have an urge to release it, like you have to go to the bathroom, but try and hold it as long as you can. When you can no longer hold it, release it into the toilet and then start to hold the water again. Adjust the water flow coming out of the bucket to your comfort. Continue to hold as long as possible and release until the contents of the bucket is spent.
  8. Helpful massage. Start massaging upward on the left side (descending colon). If you find tender, sore spots, continue to massage that area until the tenderness is gone. Continue upwards just below the ribs, then across just below the ribcage (transverse colon), and down the right side (ascending colon). Try to eliminate sensitive areas as you proceed.

Solution Options

  • Warm water is the most original option, the most common. Just plain, clean water heated to a warm temperature. Remember, no city water with flouride in it! Clean well water or distilled water.
  • Diluted coffee is the second solution. If you have a history of liver difficulties, joint problems, inflammation, pain, brown age spots, skin conditions or any chronic condition, you may want to use this option. Make two cups of coffee at regular strength as if you were going to drink it, making sure the coffee is steeped or perked, not instant. You will be adding these two cups of coffee to your 3-5 gallons of water, so it will be very diluted. If you have no adverse reactions, which means no pain of any kind, you may increase the amount of coffee in your next colema until up to half of your total solution is coffee. Keep in mind that the more coffee you use, the more “awake” you may be, so don’t do it at night if this will be a problem.
  • Water and minced garlic is often used if you suspect a lot of parasites. There are a lot of people blaming all kinds of health conditions on parasites. A sign I might use to determine if you need this option would be rectal itching. If you have these symptoms, you might consider 6-10 cloves of garlic minced very small and then mixed into your bucket of water. Chunks of garlic could clog up your colema tube, so it is best to put the garlic in a blender with a cup or two of water, strain it after blending and put the water in your colema solution. Mix well! Concentrated garlic in the lining of the intestine will probably cause some irritation.
  • Lugol’s iodine is another option. Some say it is the absolute best option for helping the body detach and remove the mucoid plaque linings. It will also draw any radiation from the body if you have had a lot of x-rays, CT scans, radiation therapy or been exposed to it at work or in the environment. Make sure you are not allergic to iodine. If you have no allergies to shellfish you are probably fine, actual iodine allergies are extremely rare. Start with just a teaspoon in the solution and increase to tablespoon, then increase one tablespoon each colema until you are using about 4-6 tablespoons in your solution.

What to expect from your colema

The effetiveness depends in large part to how much you have invested in your cleanse. Have you taken the four products mentioned above on a daily basis? That helps loosen things up. To really get the good effects, you will need to fast, you may use the Lemonade-Master cleanse as a guide for fasting. Do a colema every day of your fast if you can.

It is not unusual to pass rope-like material that is somewhat lengthy and elastic. Some of the success of the colema may depend on the massaging technique as that helps loosen waste from the intestinal wall. You may use an electric massager if you prefer. What to expect really depends on your level of curiosity or dedication to the process. Some people cannot fathom the process all together and just want it over and done with as soon as possible. But participation in your own process will make it more effective. The experienced and curious often put a colander in the toilet prior to the colema so they can analyze and confirm the effects of the process You should examine such debris carefully wearing protective gloves, but most use chop sticks of some small hook to investigate the possible mysteries. I know, to some of you, this sounds beyond barbaric, but keep in mind that there is nothing being eliminated that you did not first pass through your mouth. It can’t be that disgusting. If it is, you may want to consider what you are putting in your mouth and calling food.

If you are over thirty, look for a sticky Grey or Brown substance resembling the white of an egg or a jellyfish (unhealthy mucous). Do not flush the toilet during the entire Colonic, so you can see what comes out. If you have any kind of chronic ailment, you undoubtedly will have some black incrustations which may have been loosened by the products but cannot be eliminated because of twisted kinks in the colon. If there are no absolute blockages, these black incrustations may come out in small or large chunks, or as long ribbons, or as hard and tough pieces resembling pieces of truck tires you have seen on the highway, but smaller of course.

If you are unable to give yourself a Colema, contact a Colon Therapist (often referred to as colonics) who gives them, but make him/her give the massage too. Just running a mass of water into the colon is not wholly desirable (Massaging is preferable).

Death Begins in the Colon. That sounds a bit harsh doesn’t it? But that is the statement made by Dr. Bernard Jensen, one of the best natural healers of his time. He operated a clinic where people would come and get healed after the medical doctors said there was no hope. One of his specialties was colon cleansing with high enemas, which is a sort of do-it-yourself colonic and deeper flush. Decades later, after seeing all sorts of ungodly things pass from people, then becoming better, he wrote a book about it called, ‘Tissue Cleansing Through Bowel Management’.

If you get into natural health, you will begin to learn about nutrition and you will definitely begin to hear that you need to cleanse. There is great misunderstanding around what a ‘cleanse’ is or should be, but the target of cleansing is generally the Colon. It makes sense as the colon is where the body sends all waste products until they are eliminated in a bowel movement. The body is a very efficient system, “fearfully and wonderfully made” as long as you are only ingesting items that the body was actually intended to deal with. Today’s modern world offers us so many tasty and enticing things that do not belong in the body, and most people get precious little fiber to help entrap those items and hold them for elimination.

Nature’s protective mechanism is to secrete mucus in the colon to protect against toxins, poisons and other waste products. It works along with fiber to trap those things that might do the body harm. Because the average diet has strayed so far from the foods and items the body was designed to process, the protective mechanism is forced to work continuously producing an abundance of mucus with little chance of it being eliminated. Layer piles upon layer, mucus thickens and becomes gel like, often hardens like rubber…you can imagine how toxic that is to just sit in the body.

But wait, you had a colonoscopy and it showed everything was squeaky clean, so you definitely don’t need any colon cleansing. And yet, when those same people get on a serious colon cleanse, what is that nasty stuff they are passing, and where did it come from? The simple fact is that unless you have been eating an almost completely raw, vegan, organic diet, than you have the need for colon cleansing.

While I do not promote that a vegetarian diet is the best for everyone, meat, dairy and refined carbohydrates are foods that the human intestine was not created or designed to deal with. Animals in nature that eat meat as a staple in their diets have very short colons. Humans have a colon that is 6-8 feet long. When an acid food must spend that much time in transit, it promotes secretion of the elements the body will use to build mucoid linings. But no matter what the diet, linings will develop. The reason for this is that food must be completely digested or the body treats that food like a foreign substance. It may even treat it like a toxin depending on your inability to absorb and metabolize all the elements in that food. Overall, the healthier you eat, the fewer linings you will have and you will not need to do colon flushing as often. But you can safely assume that you have mucoid linings that need elimination, like the ones in the photo.

We assume that when we eat food, the body extracts the nutrients it can and the rest is sent to the colon where it is passed when we have a bowel movement. We have discussed that one bowel movement per meal is healthy, and should be considered regular. But regular still does not predict that the intestine is actually passing all of the waste material. When you eat something the body is not fully able to digest, the body also becomes confused with how to eliminate properly. At least Ninety-five percent of what you eat is supposed to be moved out as waste. The only thing the body takes are the nutrients and only five percent of healthy fruits and vegetables is nutrition, the rest is pulp and fiber that remains in the intestine as waste for elimination. Imagine what percent of unhealthy foods need to be passed . . . 99.5%? Now suppose your body has not been passing the entire contents of the waste you have been consuming. This percent begins to rot and putrefy along the walls of your intestine. Not just your large intestine, it forms in your small intestine as well. And there are over twenty feet of it.

The body considers this waste as toxic material that will be absorbed into the main circulation, which means an eventual threat to health. The defense is to produce mucous and place it as a protective covering around the toxic waste. Over time, you get more and more of this and it literally goes from putrefied to petrified. These are referred to as mucoid linings- mucus formed as a response to toxins which hardens into a rubbery lining. Many of the old linings that people pass are literally as hard at tire rubber. People can’t cut them with a knife. So when I say petrify, I mean petrify. And all this started with innocent undigested food, which might have been assumed good for you. I have supplied a few photos so that you might understand why you feel terrible, and why disease can so easily take over a body. It’s no different than putting a little sugar, salt and flour in your gas tank every time you fill the car and then wondering why you lose performance over time. After a certain amount of build up, the car starts to sputter and stall and eventually just shuts down the motor. When you take the motor apart, you find all this gunk and it seems perfectly reasonable that the engine would no longer run. We understand why a motor needs cleaning and maintenance, yet we assume our organic, living, biological bodies are unstoppable. Why do we assume our body is different?

So what is the best cleanse? There are tons of options, most in supplement form. Some are pretty good and some are complete trash, so here are some tips.

  1. Increase your fiber. If you equate the fact that the human body was designed to be fed raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and grains (all very high fiber), and all nutrition comprises 5% or less of a food, it leaves 95% of our diet is intended to be fiber! If you don’t have a diet that equates, take our IC-1 on a daily basis. Because most of our diets contain (or in the past contained) chemicals, preservatives, toxic metals, dyes and so forth, you need something that will help attract and bind to the toxins in the colon so they can be eliminated. Consider the IC-2 product along with the IC-1 for a more thorough cleanse.
  2. The second big issue is water. The intestine needs water to keep that sludge moving along. What moves easiest in a tube, watered down sludge or try, pasty sludge? How much water is enough? Take your body weight, divide it by two and that number is how many ounces you need a day. If you are not thirsty enough to want that much water, you are probably too sedentary, so get off your tush and work up a thirst. For those of you who drink the right amount and say the water just goes right through you, or you have dry skin anyway, look at some Thyroid support. You may need Thyroid Support and be Iodine deficient.
  3. The third issue for colon cleansing is exercise. The intestine is full of muscles that move the food from one end to the other in a wave called peristalsis. This is literally a muscle contraction. Some of it is instigated by a brain signal, but lots of it is initiated by your daily movement and abdominal muscle signals.
  4. Did you know that the bile produced by your liver (and stored in the gallbladder) can melt cement? Yes, it is used for digesting fats and other elements, but it also serves to keep the stool soft and moving along. Besides water, nature’s stool softener is bile. If you have a tendency toward liver congestion, you can take the Bowel Stimulant. This stuff works like nothing you have ever seen .. it will make you proud! While the Bowel Stimulant is all herbal and will cause you no harm, take it for a while to regain some regulation. If you need a daily “help” see if you can stay regular with the IC-1 fiber each evening. Take the Bowel Stimulant when you need additional help (weekends maybe?).
  5. Colon Cleanse Recipe. The tips above are for natural colon cleansing. If you desire to move old waste material out like the mucus and toxic stuff that is likely in there, use them all together. Start with the IC-1, use a scoop each evening. Make sure you do ok on that for a couple days. Then add in the IC-2 as directed. Do that for one day. The second day, add a Bowel Stimulant with dinner. The goal is to get as many bowel movements as possible without causing diarrhea. So the third day, if you think you can add another Bowel Stimulant, do it. Go as high as you can WITHOUT causing diarrhea. DO NOT do this if you are pregnant or nursing though.
  6. Real Cleansing. I am sorry to tell you that the body is unable to fully clean while it is also having to digest food. Ok, so maybe you don’t eat anything from dinner time to breakfast or even lunch each day .. is that plenty of time to clean house? If you have a really healthy diet, as in almost all raw, vegan diet, yes, you are fine, but make sure you are getting some breakfast. The body tries to clean while you are sleeping and fruits are cleansers, so the more ripe, in season fruit you can eat in the morning, the better. If you are not a super dedicated raw vegan, the only way to do a thorough cleanse is to fast. No, not for a whole day silly, it takes 10 days to get to the deep tissues. Each day you are not eating, the body goes a little deeper in its ability to dump old waste. I don’t really recommend water fasting for most, so look into the Lemonade-Master Cleanse. Add the products listed and use the way I described in #5 above and you will almost surely pass mucoid linings of your own.
  7. Die Hard Cleansing. What? Like 10 days of fasting with lots of extra pooping isn’t die hard enough? Add some colon flushing to that and you can consider yourself a certified die hard cleanser. In this step you are combining points #5 and #6 above, and flushing the colon with water.

Dr. Christopher’s Eye Wash

For the healing of Glaucoma, Cataract, Macular Degeneration, general eye infection and better eye sight.

The formula contains a number of different herbs, each having their own purpose. For example, there is cayenne pepper, which stimulates the eye tissues and improves the circulation in them. There is golden seal root, which kills any infection or bacteria in the eye tissues. There is bayberry bark, and red raspberry which promote the growth of new, healthy eye tissue. Finally there’s eyebright, an herb which has been used to cure eye problems for the last seven hundred years.

Often, within a week after starting, people notice mucus and pus coming out of their eyes when they wake up. This is simply damaged cells and toxic materials which are being cleansed from the eyes. One lady called me after taking the eye formula for only two days. She said, “Dr. Christopher, I woke up this morning and my eyes were almost glued shut with mucus.”

This circulation is vitally important in relation to the eye lens. There are no blood vessels in the lens itself. It depends entirely on the freeflowing humorous liquids which bathe the lens on both sides. So when nutrients can get to the lens quickly, and when waste products can be discharged from the lens easily, a person’s focusing ability is bound to improve.

Now the quality of the herbs you use will completely dictate your results. If you use commercial herbs, you may not get results. Make sure you use organic or wild harvested herbs. Find them as loose, dry herbs, not powdered form.

You Will Need:

  • 1 part Eyebright herb,
  • 1 part Bayberry bark,
  • 1 part Red raspberry,
  • 1 part Goldenseal, and
  • 1/8 part Cayenne.

To make the eyewash, put one teaspoon of the formula in a cup of boiling distilled water. You should never use tap water. When the tea has cooled, and the herbs have settled to the bottom, pour the solution through a clean piece of cotton or wool. Don’t use any synthetic fibers. Then pour a small amount in a glass eye cup, which you can get in any drug store.

To use the eyewash, place the cup over one of the eyes and blink the eye for a few times, then rest the eye for a few moments. This will let the eye become accustomed to being washed. Then repeat with the other eye. Keep using the eyewash until you can blink about 20 times with each eye. The second day, you can try to leave the eyes open for a few seconds in the solution. Your eyes may sting in the beginning. But the more you use the eyewash, the easier it will be.

Keep using the eyewash three times a day, and try to keep your eyes open in the solution for longer and longer periods. Hopefully, within a week you should be able to keep them open for five minutes at a time. If you can do this persistently, day in and day out you’ll be well on your way toward correcting any vision problems you may have. If your eyes are really bad, you can take the eyewash 5 or 6 times a day.

Also, I urge you to take three capsules of the formula twice a day internally. This is absolutely essential if you expect to get complete results.

The Artificial Fever

What is it? Well, it is inducing extra body heat artificially (with a hot bath). The Artificial Fever helps the body burn up microbes, particularly of viral origin. And YES, this is perfectly safe for children.

When do we use it? Generally when the body already has a fever, we use this to help accelerate and break the fever, not stop the fever.

What? Aren’t we supposed to be looking for ways to reduce the fever? That is what medical schools teach, but that is not good healing practice. Why did the body get a fever in the first place? A fever is the body’s natural immune response to fight off infection, generally from a bacteria or virus. To reduce the fever with Tylenol or equivalent is to stop the attempt at healing. It is much more productive to help the body heal, not impede it.

When is a fever dangerous? The usual criteria for a fever that needs medical attention soon is any fever that goes over 104 degrees F or any fever that stays above 102 degrees F for more than a day. 102.5 degrees F isn’t too bad if it is “breaking”, meaning that it goes up for a few hours and then you break out sweating and it comes back down for a while. You can go several days like that without a problem, as long as you are still getting plenty of rest and fluids.

As long as you don`t have a rash that wont disappear when rolled over with a glass, or a stiff neck and aversion to bright lights, which can mean symptoms of menengitis.

105 degrees F is usually considered the heat-stroke level, where brain damage can occur. The body and organs can take the heat, it is the brain you do not want overheating. If you reach 104, you should consult a local doctor. That said, when I describe how to do the Artificial fever below, you will see that a pail with ice water and hand towels can be used to keep the head cooler. If the brain remains in the safe range, there is no danger.

How To:  Draw a bathtub full of water. You will want the water as hot as you can stand it, but not hot enough to hurt you or burn you. You will be sitting as submerged as you can in this water for 20 minutes. If the air is cool in the house, you may want to run a small heater in the bathroom to keep the air very warm or the water will cool off and it will diminish much of the affect.

As the water is filling the tub and the heater is warming up the air, place a hand towel and a bed sheet in a pail or bowl filled with ice water. Place the pail within reach of the tub as you may want to keep the small towel within reach to be used on the head to keep the brain cool (if you feel you are getting too hot or feel like you might pass out). Some people get real weak in that much heat, so you may want to have a friend handy to help you with this final part.

When your pail of ice water is ready, get in the tub and immerse as much of your core as possible. After twenty minutes of soaking in the hot bath water, get out and immediately wrap yourself in the cold sheets. It sounds dramatic, but you will be hot enough by then that you will welcome that cold sheet. We are looking for the drastic temperature change in the skin, so get out of the hot water and wrap up in the ice cold sheet as quickly as possible.

The heat from the body will overcome the cool of the sheet very quickly. When it does, you may discard the sheet and wrap up in something that will keep you warm enough to sweat. A cotton sheet is a great idea. Those mylar emergency blankets that fold up to the size of a fist and cost a couple of dollars at Walmart are great to wrap around you and the cotton sheet. Those will assure you sweat and keep you from soaking through your sheet onto your bed. You may now leave the bathroom and go to your place of rest. The key after the cold sheet is to get hot again, so if you don’t have a mylar blanket, snuggle into an old sleeping bag you don’t mind sweating in. It does not matter what you wrap up in as long as you are warm enough to sweat.

The goal now is to sleep and sweat. When you wake up, or are through resting, you are finished. Try to rest for at least 20 minutes although a longer nap would be preferred. Your body has gone through the process of creating an artificial fever which is the natural process of killing unwanted germs, particularly viruses in the body. In almost all cases, you have helped the body bring the internal temperature to a point where the immune system over took the cause of the fever and your fever should break, begin to come down and you are done!

Coffee Enemas

Partial Colon Flushing w/ Enemas

An enema is simple to do. You can buy a hot water bottle at most corner drug stores that come with a five or six foot hose attachment. The bottle comes with attachments for douching and enemas or can be used as a simple hot water bottle. For use as an enema, the hose is screwed into the hot water bottle and the enema tip to the other end of the hose. The enema tip is about the diameter of a pen. That is smaller than a normal bowel movement, so insertion of this tip into the anus (about two inches after lubricating with olive oil) isn’t as assaultive as it might sound. The psychological aspect is the only part that is hard for some people.

There are many types of enemas that can be used. Plain water, lemon in water, water with hydrogen peroxide, etc. One of the most effective enemas in terms of health benefit is a coffee enema. That is what we focus on in this article. Basically, an enema means you will be inserting a hollow tip into the anus. This tip is about the same diameter as a pen and is only inserted a couple of inches so the solution is delivered past the anal muscle into the rectum. You would lie on your back or your side (left side is best) and allow 1-4 cups of solution to run into the bowel at gravity fed speed. You hold the solution in the colon as long as possible. When unable to hold it anymore, you get on the toilet and release it. That’s it.

Directions For Making And Using A Coffee Enema
A coffee enema is one of the most effective methods of initiating bile production and flushing of the liver. The elements of coffee in enema form (theobromine, theophylline and caffeine) are absorbed in the hemorrhoid vein and taken up the portal vein, which serve the liver directly. Drinking coffee does not have the same effect, sorry. Enemas are often needed to assist the body in elimination of toxins from the liver, the body’s natural detoxification organ. Headaches, spontaneous sweats, bloating and healing crisis are all signs of liver congestion which would probably benefit from a coffee enema. Matter of fact, if you suffer with headaches or migraines, do a coffee enema when you first feel it coming on and it will generally stop all head pain!

Make 1-4 cups of brewed coffee, never instant, always brewed, organic if possible. You may want to start with two cups of coffee and dilute it with one cup of water that brings the coffee to temperature. Test the temperature on your wrist as you would contents of a baby bottle. It should be warm enough to relax the intestinal muscles, but not hot enough to harm the mucous membranes of the intestine. As you know you are able to handle the coffee, you can use up to a quart of brewed coffee with enough cold water to reduce the temperature to usable format. The higher the concentration of coffee, the greater the liver flushing abilities will be. The average recommended coffee enema is with about 4 cups of brewed coffee.

Place the solution in an enema bag (available at most corner drug stores). Hang the enema up above the level that you will be using it, but making sure the application tip will reach the location where you are laying. The solution is delivered into the colon by gravity. The higher you place it, the faster the solution will travel. You will want a slow traveling speed at first, but this can also be regulated by a valve on the enema hose. When the bag is in place, open the valve slowly to let the air out. When the coffee reaches the tip, close the valve, you are ready to begin.

NOTE: If you have never done an enema, you may find it difficult to hold the coffee in the intestine once it flows in from the bag. Until you know what your retention ability is, it may be wise to do your first enema in the shower or the tub in case you have an accident. It will be much easier to clean up there. 

Position yourself in a comfortable spot. It is most effective to lie on your LEFT side, or to have your bottom up (rather than on your back) and bring the knees about half way to the chest. Once positioned, lubricate the end of the enema tip with some olive oil or other lubricant and insert the end of the tube about two inches into the anus. Release the valve slowly and allow the coffee-water to run into the colon until you start to feel full, then stop the valve. Retain as much of the coffee as you can, for as long as possible, then get up and eliminate in the toilet. Depending how much solution you used, you may need to repeat this process several times. Effectiveness generally requires at least a couple of cups held for several minutes although more experience can allow almost a court of water held for up to 20 minutes! If you can retain several cups for about 7 minutes, you should consider your enema successful.

If coffee enemas make you feel worse, DO NOT use them, they are over stimulating your body. An enema used daily, or several times a week can be used short term to relieve symptoms. Do not use long term or the continual stimulation will stress the liver.

Benefits of Fasting

Fasting is the oldest form of health care. Modern thinking has developed this mentality that when we are sick, eating produces strength. But nothing is further from the truth. If a sick person will fast, more energy will be available to fight the illness because the body is relieved from the labor of digesting foods. The energy required for digesting food is very high, particularly animal fats and proteins (including chicken soup.) We have been advised to avoid swimming after eating or suffer cramps in the water because muscles in use require energy, which produces lactic acid. Lactic acid is also produced in the process of digestion. Combined, these can be overwhelming to the muscles.

Another example is during festivals like Thanksgiving where people eat like it’s their last meal. After a huge amount of food, do you feel energized or tired? You feel tired because the body is busy using all of its energy for digestion. If you eat heavily before sleep you will wake up feeling tired because your body cannot go into rest mode while it is busy digesting. Digesting food requires tremendous amounts of energy…and it’s not the kind that burns calories!

When you fast, the freed energy can then be directed towards the elimination of toxins in the body. The process of fasting normalizes glandular, metabolic and nervous-system functions; speeding up the elimination of morbid accumulations, toxic wastes and dead cells; accelerating new cell and tissue generation and enhancing cell-oxygenation. Unfortunately, only animals and babies retain their natural instinct when sick and refuse food.

What is Fasting?
Fasting commences within the first twelve to twenty-four hours of ceasing to eat ANY substance. A fast does not chemically begin until the carbohydrate stores in the body begin to be used as an energy source. The fast will continue as long as fat and carbohydrate stores are used for energy, as opposed to protein stores. Once protein stores begin to be depleted for energy, a person is technically starving. You do not want to reach this point as it is unhealthy and will result in loss of muscle mass. A fast is defined by the lack of digestive response. Lack of chewing is not fasting. Some believe that if they blend foods and drink them, they are fasting. No, that is just your teeth on vacation. Technically, fasting means nothing is consumed except for water, perhaps mixed with a little unsweetened apple or grape juice. These do not require digestion, particularly the apple juice, so the technicality of the fast is preserved.

Fasting Induces Detoxification
Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph glands, and skin. This process is precipitated by fasting because when food is no longer entering the body, the body turns to fat reserves for energy. These fat reserves were created when excess glucose and carbohydrates were not used for energy or growth, not excreted, and therefore converted into fat. When the fat reserves are used for energy during a fast, it releases the chemicals from the fatty acids into the system which are then eliminated through the mentioned elimination channels. Chemicals not found in food but absorbed from one’s environment, such as DDT, Novocain (dentist and epidurals), many vaccine preservatives, etc., are stored in fat reserves that can be released during a fast. One fasting advocate tested his own urine, feces and sweat during an extended fast and found traces of DDT in each. Keep in mind that the body will always use glucose sources for energy first, then fat stores when there is no longer glucose available. That means that for your body to release any of the toxins stored in fat, you have to fast long enough to use up the glucose reserves. That takes 1-3 days for most people. We will discuss how long one should fast shortly.

During a fast, energy is diverted away from the digestive system due to its lack of use and towards the metabolism and immune system. The healing process during a fast is precipitated by the body’s search for energy sources. Abnormal growths within the body (polyps, cysts, fatty tumors and malignant tumors), do not have the full support of the body’s supplies and therefore are more susceptible to autolysis (self digest). The liver is in charge of converting fats. This is called autolysis or gluconeogenesis. When this fat utilization occurs, free fatty acids are released into the blood stream and are used by the liver for energy. The less one eats, the more the body turns to these stored fats and creates ketones, the accumulation of which is referred to as ketosis.

Dietary ketosis is often confused with Ketoacidosis, a life-threatening condition most often associated with uncontrolled insulin-deficient Type 1 diabetes. In Type 1 diabetes, a lack of insulin leads to a toxic build-up of blood glucose and an excessive break-down of fat and muscle tissue. Ketoacidosis doesn’t occur in individuals who have even a small amount of insulin, whether from natural production or (if diabetic) artificially administered. In fact, far from causing health problems, dietary ketosis for intentional weight loss may be beneficial for health, as it can produce a range of benefits, such as: rapid weight loss, decreased hunger and fewer food-cravings, improved mood, increased energy and, providing protein-intake is adequate, protection of lean muscle tissue.

When we burn a larger amount of fat than is immediately needed for energy, the excess ketones are discarded in the urine. Volatile ketones (like, acetone) can be expelled through the lungs. Diabetics are sometimes mistaken for being drunk by the odor on their breath. Ketones give the breath a sickly, fruity odor like nail-varnish remover or pear-drops. If you get breath like this, you need more complex carbohydrates in your diet. If you do not add carbohydrates, you will probably loose weight very quickly, which might be your goal, but it will soon make the blood very acid and this can be very dangerous. You can buy keytone test strips for testing urine and keep your levels monitored if you wish to maximize metabolic success without crossing into a health hazard.

In addition, production of protein for replacement of damaged cells (protein synthesis) occurs more efficiently because fewer “mistakes” are made by the DNA/RNA genetic controls which govern this process. A higher efficiency in protein synthesis results in healthier cells, tissues and organs. This is one reason that animals stop eating when they are wounded, and why humans lose hunger during influenza. Hunger has been proven absent in illnesses such as gastritis, tonsillitis and colds. When the body looses hunger, there is a reason. Generally speaking, listen, don’t eat! …not even chicken soup. Your body is trying to heal. We think we need food for energy to grow, but did you know that growth hormones are also released during a fast, due to the greater efficiency in hormone production?

Science of Fasting
The most scientifically proven advantage to fasting is the feeling of rejuvenation and extended life expectancy. The surest way to increase the life span is by cutting down the amount of food eaten, which is interesting since one of the signs of success in most societies, is lots of food. Part of this phenomenon is caused by a number of the benefits mentioned above. A slower metabolic rate, more efficient protein production, an improved immune system, and the increased production of hormones contributes to this long-term benefit of fasting. In addition to the Human Growth Hormone that is released more frequently during a fast, an anti-aging hormone is also produced more efficiently. The only reliable way to extend the life span of a mammal (human) is under-nutrition without malnutrition.

A study was performed on earthworms that demonstrated the extension of life due to fasting. The experiment was performed in the 1930s by isolating one worm and putting it on a cycle of fasting and feeding. The isolated worm outlasted its relatives by 19 generations, while still maintaining its youthful physiological traits. The worm was able to survive on its own tissue for months. Once the size of the worm began to decrease, the scientists would resume feeding it at which point it showed great vigor and energy. The life-span extension of these worms was the equivalent of keeping a man alive for 600 to 700 years. I don’t know if it means anything, but after Noah’s flood in the Bible, man was allowed to eat many foods which were previously forbidden. Most of the meat delicacies in the world today are foods that were on that forbidden list, and still are for Jews.

Dr. Clive McCay, at Cornell University took laboratory rats and cut the rat’s food intake by half. It doubled their life span. Another study at the University of Texas involving three groups of rats is also interesting to note. One group eats as much as it wants, a second has its food intake cut by more than half, and the third eats as much as it wants but it’s protein intake was cut in half. After more than 2 years, only 13 % of the rats in the first group are still alive. Of the second group which has its food intake cut by more than half, 97 % are still alive. The third group sees only half remaining. The message is simple, Eat less = Live longer.

Fasting To Resolve Addictions
Most people are surprised at how easy it is to quit smoking or drinking with the help of fasting. Addictions are signs that we have lost awareness of ourselves in terms of our ability to process feelings. Addictions are simply methods of covering up emotions we don’t know how to deal with. It is often subconscious, so we aren’t even aware of what our “issues” are. This is part of being unaware of ourselves. When I say the word addiction, you probably think of things like alcohol, cocaine, nicotine and caffeine, but food, work, the drive to make money, sex (pornography), or anything that we have a hard time controlling our desire for, is an addiction. It is this very attribute that gives fasting a spiritual nature. Modern diets are addictions to many people. The addiction to what people believe to be yummy foods, are actually artificial colors, preservatives and additives. Fasting will often shorten the time it takes for an individual to make the transition from a modern diet and lifestyle to a healthier food choice and lifestyle. People say that after fasting healthy foods taste better, they are drawn to them and they lack desire for some of the junk they previously craved. Why? The awareness has begun to return. The body is able to communicate better, you can once again be intuitive with your body. NOTE: It is extremely counter productive to have blood sugar issues when a person already has addictions, so be sure to choose the kind of fast that will keep blood sugar stable if success is desired.

What Is The Best Fast?
According to the purists, fasting means only water – a juice fast is not a real fast. The religious purists assume that Jesus did a water fast, but there is no way to prove this. The Swedish Dr. Ragnar Berg, long considered an authority on nutrition and biochemistry stated, “During fasting, the body burns up and excretes huge amounts of accumulated waste. We can help this process by drinking alkaline juices instead of water. Juice fasting is therefore the very best form of fasting.” Furthermore, certain herbal combinations cleanse the entire gastro-intestinal tract, assure the elimination of toxins and the balancing of the entire body.

Most people have blood sugar imbalances (hypoglycemic tendencies). It is unproductive and even counterproductive to create blood sugar imbalances in the body, both on a physical, mental and emotional level. For this reason, juice fasting is both gentler on the system and easier on the mind. In a juice fast, the body is not starved of nutrients. Spending time taking in juices, herbal cleansing teas and because your taste buds are being satisfied by the juice, a juice fast feels less frugal than a water fast. The juice has an alkalizing effect on the blood, which reduces symptoms of detoxification. There are fruit juice and vegetable juice fasts.

The fruit juice fast is going to be more effective in detoxification, particularly if you use organic, unsweetened apple juice. Those who have issues with apple juice can use organic, unsweetened grape juice (Kedem in the glass bottle may be the absolute best, but hard to find). Apple juice contains pectin, an enzymes which induces further detoxification of the liver, gallbladder and even the stomach and small intestine. Both of these fruits are low glycemic fruits, which means they don’t have a high reaction to insulin response; i.e., your blood sugar doesn’t go all over the place. A fruit juice fast should contain no concentrations of juice, but a mixture of organic juice and water at a 50/50 ratio or more in favor of water.

If the body is already weak before beginning a fast, it is wisest to begin a vegetable juice fast rather than a fruit juice fast. While fruits have cleansing attributes, vegetables have more building attributes. Drinking freshly made vegetable juice allows a person who is weak to fast for short terms and gain the effects of fasting without creating further weakness. Carrots are the typical staple item in a vegetable juice fast. Any juicer will work to make your juice, but the juice needs to be used no more than 20 minutes after making it or it begins to loose essential nutritional components. The only exception might be the Greens Plus Juicer as it claims to keep nutrients for much longer.

How Long Should A Fast Last?
Fasting should not continue if the body begins to eat its own muscle (often evident if extreme hunger pains occur), if ketosis becomes a problem or there is mental impairment. You should always begin with a short fast. One day is a good start. If you feel stress at the very thought of fasting, begin by simply eliminating an important food group from your diet. This process prepares the mind for a day with no food. Once you know you are fine with one day, try to go three days. Some of the experts in cleansing state that the body does not dump the deep toxins until at least day 7, or even 10 days for some. Once you know you can do it, a fast of 10-40 days has been achieved by many. DO NOT get yourself in a health crisis though. If you feel severe hunger pains, or begin to get great mental confusion, please stop the fast.

When Is Fasting Harmful?
Fasting should not be considered without professional supervision if a person is pregnant, nursing, has eating disorders, or is excessively thin or malnourished.

How To Break A Fast
The greatest benefit may be lost, followed by harmful after effects, if the fast is not broken in the right way. George Bernard Shaw said, “Any fool can fast, but it takes a wise man to break a fast properly.” In fact, the best effects of a fast depend upon the dietetic management after it is broken. The longer the fast, the more care must be taken in breaking it. Raw fruit and vegetables should be the order of the next three days. If you need something more, a boiled or baked potato without butter can be introduced on the second and third day. The greatest danger lies in eating too frequently and too much at a time. After a long fast the digestive organs are in a condition of complete inactivity, and to overload them suddenly with a large amount of food may provoke acute attacks of indigestion and produce many other kinds of serious disturbances. The organs must be trained to return to normal activity gradually, beginning with very small quantities of light food.

The Lemonade-Master Cleanse

I would suggest this Cleanse at least twice a year for everyone! This was originally called the Master Cleanse, created by Stanley Boroughs (original book in .pdf). It is a method of fasting with a lemonade drink taken every hour, for 8 hours. Fasting is the oldest recorded “diet” program, dating back more than 2500 years. There is great detoxification, matter of fact, some would say that only during a fast does the body detoxify fully. It takes at least 10 days to reach the deeper tissues of the body. 10 days of no food is a long time for many, and it could be life threatening for someone who is diabetic or very hyperglycemic (get shaky when you don’t eat regularly). Using the ingredients in the Lemonade Fast supplies minerals and sugars so the body does not have those blood sugar reactions. The Lemonade Cleanse is one of the most effective total-body cleansing programs available. It is simple, inexpensive and provides you the energy to continue your daily tasks. It is true you are not eating, and the concept of that is hard for some people, but most people report that by day 3 they have more energy than they had when they were eating! Amazing!

The Lemonade Cleanse Summary
After this evening, you will stop eating (fast) for the length of your cleanse. Starting tomorrow, you will fill a glass with 8-10 ounces of good, pure water and add the following to your water. You will repeat this every hour for 10 days.

  1. ADD 1/10 of a teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper, organic if you can, at least 30,000 HU
  2. ADD 2 Tablespoons of Grade B Maple Syrup
  3. ADD 1/2 of a freshly squeezed lemon
  4. Each evening you will need a cup of laxative tea, which you can get at some grocery stores, most health food stores. Smooth Move Tea is a wonderful choice.

Beginning the second morning of your fast, and every morning thereafter, you will need 30 ounces of water with 2 (two) teaspoons of sea salt in it. NOT table salt, but sea salt. Drink it down in 15 minutes or less if you can. This is imperative to help flush the toxins that the body is releasing during the fast. Any detox symptoms you might get from fasting, like rash, irritable, headache, etc, is generally relieved with the morning salt water. IF you cannot drink the salt water, do another cup of the laxative tea in the morning unless you already have diarrhea.

That’s it! Eat nothing, and take no supplements during your fast (but continue any medications you are supposed to be on).

How many days should I fast?
The original Master Cleanse was a 10-day fast. Calm down…most people have a hard time doing that many days on a first fast. You don’t have to commit to that long. BUT, if you can make it to day 4, you won’t be hungry any more and it is a piece of cake after that. A one, two, even three day fast does not produce therapeutic results, meaning your body will get a little something from it, but nothing spectacular.  It takes a certain amount of days for the body to cleanse enough that it begins to release the deep toxins that cause disease. For some it will be day 7, but for most of the people who are not eating a diet that is primarily raw foods, it generally takes the full 10 days. But work up to it if you must. Do a couple days here and there until you find you can make it all the way to day 10. Remember, if you can get to day 4, you should be home free, the rest is easy.

Kidney Stone Flush

MELT A Kidney Stone NATURALLY And Stop The Pain!

Passing a kidney stone can cause so much pain it can make you wonder if being alive is worth it! I have used this recipe many, many times for clients who call in with emergency kidney stone pain. To date, I don’t think there is a single case it did not work on although it is reported to work 80% of the time. . . It’s not Coke and rum, it’s Coke and asparagus!

Home-made Kidney Stone Remedy
The phosphoric acid in Coca Cola helps break down the stones and the asparagus acts as a diuretic to flush out the tiny crystals. The pH change produced by the Coke causes increased hydrogen ion secretion in the nephrons (the tiny filtering units) of the kidney.

Required Ingredients:

  • • 6-pack of Coca-Cola, or a 2-liter bottle of Coke. Pepsi would probably work, too—but, we have not established proof of its effectiveness yet. Note: The original Kidney Stone Removal Remedy calls for Classic Coke™, not flavored, or Zero or any other ‘style’ although Caffeine-Free versions also seem to work. Both have phosphoric acid—this is one of the main catalysts for dissolving your kidney stones. In a pinch, due to its high phosphoric acid content, Dr. Pepper would likely work as well.
  • • 6–8 oz. of asparagus. Canned or frozen generally works, but fresh is best.
  • • A high-speed blender.
  • • One gallon of Distilled water.

Procedure:

  1. Over the course of 2 hours, drink the 72 ounces of Coke. Drink it warm or hot, not chilled or on ice.
  2. Steam or quickly boil the asparagus at some point during the two hours. Process it in the blender until it is well-puréed. You want liquid-no chunks. I would do this part just before you drink it, which is as you finish your 72 ounces of Coke.
  3. Within 5 minutes from drinking the last 12 ounces, drink the asparagus purée. Rather than simply gulping it down, try to mix the purée well with your saliva, which means swishing it around in your mouth.
  4. The remedy begins working immediately and, within a few hours, you’ll begin to pass the stones through your urine as sand-like particles. This should NOT be painful. If you are not getting relief in a matter of hours, feel free to try again.

Keys to Success:
• The remedy works best if done on an empty stomach.
• Time of day does not dictate results, but morning may be best so you are not drinking all that caffeine before you try to sleep.
• Continue to drink a large quantity of distilled water immediately after taking the asparagus. The water will serve to re-hydrate your body. The quantities of Coke will begin to dehydrate you, so the water helps to prevent this from happening.
• Although you can resume your normal diet immediately after you finish this remedy, it is best to wait between one and two hours before eating to allow the remedy to achieve the best results.
• If the kidney stones are not all passed the first day, repeat the process within 3 days. If you have a scheduled surgery, repeat the next day! -trying to avoid surgery here.
• Coke is not a preventative for stones. Actually, any soda pop with caffeine will dehydrate the body and lead to a higher potential of stones. For the remedy, the coke is used for its chemical properties and interaction with the asparagus.
