INGREDIENTS OF IC-1
Psyllium seed is considered by many as the ideal
fiber for bowel health. It absorbs many times its weight in water
and can be used for diarrhea (soaking up excess fluid making stool
firmer and move slower) or for constipation by providing water to
soften stool enabling faster movement. It contains soluble fibers
that are known to help lower non-healthy cholesterol (LDL and VLDL)
in the blood. As a source of fiber, it can help moderate the surge
in blood sugar that follows a meal. Psyllium should be taken with
adequate liquid (at least 5 oz of water per teaspoon) as it swells
many times its original size and needs sufficient dilution to move
through the system. It should not be taken by persons that have
any type of bowel obstruction or restriction.
Apple Fruit Pectin is a natural fiber that keeps
the arteries elastic while it helps clear waxy buildup on the walls.
It converts into galacturonic acid which binds with toxic metals
such as lead forming insoluble salts that cannot be absorbed and
are eliminated from the body. Pectin helps to control diarrhea by
binding with bacteria and preventing replication (growth), it combines
with calcium, forming a gel that soothes and calms any irritated
linings and helps relieve constipation. It has also been shown to
bind with Strontium 90 (nuclear fallout contamination that is in
our food chain) and keeps it from being absorbed in the bones.
Flax seed is an excellent source of fiber as well
as omega fatty acids, which help prevent cancer and heart disease.
As whole seeds, it helps to gently scrub and clean the colon.
Barley Grass is one of the best detoxifying and
cleansing greens that also provides a source for protein.
Fig is rich in minerals and excellent for digestive
support and health of the stomach and intestines.
Oat Bran is an excellent source of fiber that reduces
the harmful cholesterol (LDL and VLDL).
Rice Bran is a source of fiber that provides an
abundance of B vitamins and works as a hypoallergenic.
Peppermint is well known for improving digestive
cramps, irritable colon, nausea, vomiting, morning sickness, and
painful menstruation as well as an excellent digestive tonic.
Senna is one of the most widely used natural laxatives
because of its stool-softening and colon stimulating actions. It
is especially useful for people with hemorrhoids or anal fissures.
It has also been effectively used for bronchitis, dysentery, seizures,
fever, indigestion and skin diseases. History records that it was
first prescribed by ancient Arabian physicians.
Garlic is one of the most widely used and consumed
herbs. Throughout history it has been used for high blood pressure,
digestive ailments, menstrual pain, diabetes, hemorrhoids, to relieve
corns, calluses, ear infections, muscle and nerve pain, and to expel
parasites. The ancient Egyptians used to give the Hebrew slaves
several cloves of garlic through the day because they found that
it increased their productivity as well as life span. It has been
extensively used as a medicine since the Egyptian Pharaohs and earliest
Chinese dynasties.
Hawthorn berries have been used since the Middle
Ages to support the heart and normalize the cardiovascular system.
European studies have shown that it increases blood flow to the
heart and brain, that it enhances the strength of the heart's contractions,
helps prevent irregular heart beats, and mildly lowers blood pressure.
Other studies indicate that it can also help protect the heart from
oxygen deprivation, which often is involved in and leads to angina,
which is accompanied by intense chest pain. Today, in parts of the
world, it is one of the most valuable medicinal herbs used in the
treatment of congestive heart failure and circulatory disorders.
Barberry has been used for indigestion and liver
and gall bladder problems as well as enlarged spleen (normalizing
its moisture content), diarrhea, tuberculosis, hemorrhoids, kidney
disease, gout, arthritis, low back pain, malaria and parasite infections.
Animal studies have demonstrated that it can reduce blood pressure,
increase the flow of bile, reduce fever and relieve constipation.
Chickweed has been referred to as an herb that
there is no part of the world where it cannot be found. It has been
used for piles, sores and cutaneous diseases as well as for constipation,
coughs, and hoarseness and obesity.
Acacia Gum is a demulcent and helps to coat and
soothe inflamed areas such as respiratory, digestive and urinary

with water, which aids in the movement and elimination of waste
from the body.
Papain is an enzyme that is specific for the digestion
of proteins, which aids in the absorption and utilization of the
amino acids that it assists in liberating.
Acidophilus is the normal flora or bacteria that
normally resides in the intestines and keeps the balance of helpful
and harmful bacteria under control. The vast exposure to toxins,
drugs and chemicals have created chronic deficiencies of intestinal
normal flora. Acidophilus is also responsible for the production
of various B vitamins especially B5, which is instrumental for the
production of adequate energy, for helping to keep the colon clean,
for protection from Candida overgrowth, and to support the immune
system by assisting in the production of interferon.
Colostrum is a substance that is rich in protein,
growth factors and immune factors such as lactoferrin, which transports
iron to red blood cells and helps deprive harmful viruses and bacteria
of iron effectively interrupting their propagation. It is the substance
that in mother's milk establishes a firm foundation for the immune
system primarily by presenting a transfer factor that allows cells
to communicate and effectively produce antibodies and in sufficient
quantities to eliminate invading pathogens. It is currently being
used for and investigated in clinical trials for bacterial and viral
infections, allergies and auto immune diseases, heart disease, cancer,
weight loss, and open wounds.
Licorice root is an excellent detoxifier. In China,
it has been proven to breakdown over 1,500 toxins. It supports the
adrenal glands and contains glycyrrhizic acid, which helps heal
stomach ulcers and soothes inflammation. It also loosens and thins
mucus in the lungs and acts as a decongestant. There is a possibility
that it helps the body to produce interferon to fight off viruses.
Meadowsweet is excellent for combating inflammation
and tightening tissues. It contains the natural form of salicylic
acid (aspirin), which also helps to relieve pain.
